What is VCS?
Version Check Syndication is the FREE idea of being able to plug in all the software, drivers, etc. you need to keep track of into one central application (a VCS client). Doing this will allow people using VCS clients to be instantly notified of updated software, eliminating the annoying hassle of visiting a multitude of different sites on a regular basis to follow the latest software. This will also allow software developers to instantly notify their users of updates.

The new site has launched in order to provide a sufficient, dedicated resource to this new technology. Several parts of the project are not yet complete, so respectively these parts of the site contain little to no content. However, sufficient documentation has been added so the specification can be put into production by developers. Please don't hesitate to begin using VCS on your web sites. A VCS reader for Mozilla FireFox will be available in the near future along with a list of sites already adopting and using VCS in their own sites.
